Protein cost formula
Multiply protein per serving by servings per package to find total protein. Divide that total by 25 to find the number of 25g protein portions, then divide the package price by that number. Keep the currency and price date the same when comparing products.
Example and limits
For a $12 package with 18g of protein per serving and 20 servings, the package contains 360g of protein. That equals 14.4 portions of 25g, so the protein cost is about $0.83 per 25g. Nutrition quality, ingredients and convenience remain separate decisions.
