By downloading or using AptBite ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
What AptBite does
AptBite compares the nutrition labels of packaged foods against a goal you choose (for example, more protein or fewer calories) and shows the numeric difference behind each comparison.
Not medical advice
AptBite compares packaged-food labels for your goal. It does not provide medical, dietary, or nutritional advice. Always consult a qualified professional for medical conditions, allergies, or dietary treatment, and always check the physical package — label databases may be incomplete or outdated.
Data accuracy
Nutrition data comes from third-party sources (Open Food Facts, USDA FoodData Central) and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. When the app detects conflicting or implausible data it will flag it, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy of any product information. You are responsible for verifying information against the actual package before making decisions that affect your health.
Subscriptions and purchases
- AptBite offers auto-renewable subscriptions and a one-time lifetime purchase, processed by the App Store.
- Prices, trial terms, and renewal terms are always shown in the app before you confirm a purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your Apple ID settings.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its standard policies.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the app or its backend services, attempt to reverse engineer them beyond what law permits, or submit false data reports knowingly.
Intellectual property
The app, its design, and its content (excluding third-party nutrition data, which is licensed under the Open Database License by Open Food Facts) are the property of the AptBite team. Open Food Facts data is used under the ODbL.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AptBite is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for decisions made based on app data, or for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time; the date above reflects the latest version. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
