What the numbers mean
Total sugars include sugars naturally present in a food plus any added sugars reported on the label. The calculator shows added sugar per serving and normalizes it to 100g so serving-size differences are easier to see. Total sugar minus added sugar is a remainder, not a laboratory measure of naturally occurring sugar.
Example and limits
For a 150g serving with 15g total sugars and 7g added sugars, added sugar is about 4.7g per 100g. Compare the same product state and check the package because formulas and serving sizes can change.
